Quinte Health Super Users: Who Are They?
As Quinte Health prepares to transition from Meditech to our new regional health information system, Lumeo, our teams are experiencing a mix of excitement and unease. The new system will enhance patient care and streamline workflows, but the journey to get there requires ample learning, collaboration, and at-the-hip support.
Quinte Health will welcome a number of Oracle Health Coaches during the first few weeks of Go-Live, and they will be available to address your inquiries during this transition. These individuals will be your first point of contact if you encounter an issue, so look for these support team members in red lanyards!
In addition to the Oracle Health Coaches, our teams will have support from our Super Users at Quinte Health—they will be wearing yellow lanyards. These members are your colleagues, trained to assist you during this transition. They understand both the new system and your day-to-day workflow. Their goal is simple: to ensure you feel confident and supported as you navigate this significant change.
This support system ensures that no question goes unanswered, whether it’s a quick fix or a more in-depth issue that needs to be addressed locally or at the regional level. With both resources at your side, you’ll have access to comprehensive guidance throughout the transition.
Support at Your Fingertips
Imagine you’re in the middle of a busy shift and encounter a question about the new system. Who do you turn to? Instead of feeling overwhelmed, you can reach out to the Oracle Health Coaches or Super Users. They’ll be available to provide immediate, at-the-elbow support, whether it’s answering system questions, offering tips for best practices, or walking you through specific workflows.
Kristy Jackson, a Quinte Health Super User and Clinical Resource Nurse in the Acute Medicine Program, shared, “Training is sparking valuable conversations among our team. Staff are returning from sessions eager to share what they’ve learned and engage with one another about the new system. The positive feedback has been encouraging, and it’s clear many team members are excited about this transition.”
Kristy encourages everyone to explore resources like the Lumeo Library and Quinte Health Connect Intranet, and to engage with colleagues, especially those with experience using the new system. “Embrace the learning curve. It’s okay to face challenges in the initial weeks; with time and practice, everything will come together. Let’s support one another and focus on enhancing patient care through this change.”
Rick Flewelling, a Quinte Health Super User and Registered Nurse in Endoscopy, shared his perspective: “Transitioning from paper to Meditech was just the beginning—now, with the Lumeo system, we’re truly stepping into the future of healthcare. In the Endoscopy department, we currently juggle three different programs along with paper charting, which can be overwhelming. With Lumeo, we’ll streamline our processes into one cohesive system, and I couldn’t be more excited about it. Going paperless will enhance communication and safety—no more chasing down charts. To those feeling uneasy about the change, I say: embrace this opportunity for growth. We’re all in this together, supporting one another every step of the way.”
This transition is a team effort! Let’s work together and do what we do best: provide quality care in our community, now empowered with modern tools.
