Information For Youth Volunteers

The BGHA welcomes youth volunteers aged 16-18 years old!

Volunteering is a great way to gain experience and contribute to your community. You learn new skills by trying new jobs. You might find something you’d like to do for a living! Employers and post-secondary schools will be impressed that you took the initiative to learn new things and give your time. Best of all, you will be Making Your Impact and helping people along the way!

We cannot guarantee a lot of hours each week. Generally, youth volunteers are scheduled for one or two shifts per week, and sometimes more in the summer months depending on how much you are available through the daytime hours. Depending on where you volunteer, the shift could be 2-4 hours in length. It’s a good idea to start volunteering in the summer months when you have more time through the daytime hours. Please consider starting the application process during March Break so all your paperwork is done well in advance. We have a lot of youth volunteers in the summer months!
