Privacy at Quinte Health

At Quinte Health, we are committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of your personal health information. Your information will be treated with respect and sensitivity.

Personal health information is any information that identifies an individual and connects that individual to receiving care at Quinte Health. Personal health information can include information about your physical or mental health, diagnosis, testing, treatment, family health history, health card number, and individuals within your care team.

Quinte Health’s Privacy Office and How We Protect Your Privacy

The role of the Privacy Office at Quinte Health is to ensure that the personal health information of our patients, clients and community residents is kept just that – personal. Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) lists the rules for the collection, use and disclosure (sharing) of personal health information.

We take steps to protect your personal health information from theft, loss and unauthorized access, copying, modification, use, disclosure and disposal. We also take steps to ensure that everyone who performs services for us protects your privacy and only uses your personal health information for authorized purposes.

Please call the Privacy Office at 613- 969-7400 ext. 2218 to discuss any patient-related questions, concerns, recommendations, or requests. Emails can be sent to privacy@qhc.on.ca, but users should note that email is not secure. Email sent to this address could be seen by email or internet service providers or intercepted and seen by others. Only send information that you do not feel is sensitive.
