Effective Sept 3 – Medical masks are now required in patient-facing areas of our hospitals, such as emergency departments, clinics, waiting rooms, diagnostic imaging, and inpatient units (including while visiting patients in their rooms). Masks are available at hospital entrances.
Belleville General Hospital (BGH) provides primary and secondary care, offering a full range of clinics, diagnostic services, support services, and outreach programs. BGH is the home of the Dr. Douglas A. MacIntosh Cancer Clinic, and the regional Intensive Care Unit. Learn more about the services BGH offers by clicking on the Services & Clinics tab.
Our Patient Services Directory booklets contain additional information for patients and visitors and are available at hospital entrances and online.
Main Entrance – Charlotte Sills Wing (open 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., 7 days/week)
Emergency Department Entrance (24/7)
WCA Entrance (6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Mon-Fri) – locked on weekends
Cancer Clinic Entrance (7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mon-Fri) – only available for Cancer Clinic patients/caregivers
If you arrive at Belleville General Hospital after 9 p.m. you must use the Emergency Department Entrance.
You may stop in front of the Sills Main Entrance if you are dropping off or picking up a patient, but you must not leave your car unattended. There must be a driver that can move the car immediately if required.
There is a phone in the main lobby so that anyone arriving to pick up a patient from Day Surgery can call down and let the team know they are at the entrance; a porter will then bring the patient to the door. However, if you choose to go to the Day Surgery area yourself then you need to park in the parking lot, bring the patient to the lobby, and then go get your car.
Please note that the Cancer Clinic Entrance is for oncology patients only. Should someone stop at either entrance for an excessive amount of time or leave their car parked unattended, they may be ticketed and towed, as the signs currently inform.
The area along the front of the building is a fire lane. The fire department can also ticket here, and their fines can be up to $10,000.
