About the North Hastings District Hospital Auxiliary
The North Hastings District Hospital Auxiliary (NHDHA) is a registered not-for-profit charity and has been in existence since 1985. During that time, we have expanded into many areas of fundraising. These initiatives have generated more than $1.8 million for our excellent local hospital.
Our cheerful band of volunteers is willing to tackle all sorts of endeavours to benefit our hospital, which, we all agree, we are most fortunate to have in our small town. We have a supportive, collaborative, and dynamic group of volunteers. Volunteer activities are as varied as the volunteers themselves, and each one makes a difference in the lives of our patients. Become A North Hastings District Hospital Auxiliary Volunteer!
We are always looking for volunteers that share our passion for supporting our community hospital. If you have a couple of hours to spare or if you wish to be more involved, consider applying to volunteer with us. You can apply to volunteer in the hospital or with one of our fundraising initiatives—the New to You Boutique, the Corner Café, or with our annual fundraising events including the Radiothon, the Round-Up and BBQ, and Tim Hortons’ Smile Cookie campaign.
Becoming a member of the Auxiliary means you are invited to participate in social events such as the annual anniversary dinner, volunteer week events, and general meeting luncheons.
Before coming on board as a volunteer, we need a proof of immunization including COVID-19 vaccine, TB testing, two references and an incident free police background check (for anyone 18 years and older).
