Hospital Precautions

At this time, medical masks are not required within Quinte Health hospitals but are available at entrances if you would like to wear one. If you have respiratory symptoms and are seeking care in the emergency department, please be courteous and wear a mask to protect others from illness. In the fall, during influenza/COVID season, masks will once again be required in some areas of our hospitals.

We recognize how vital care partners are for our patients’ well-being. As we maintain a balance between safety and support, please note that we have some limitations with visiting.

Please do not visit loved ones if you have any symptoms of illness, if you have had respiratory symptoms in the last 10 days, gastrointestinal symptoms in the last 48 hours, or been exposed to someone with COVID in the last 10 days.

We kindly ask that you inform the patient before visiting. Usually, we allow up to two (2) care partners or visitors to be present with the patient at a time.

Please use the hand sanitizer stations to clean your hands frequently while in Quinte Health hospitals.
