Effective Sept 3 – Medical masks are required in patient-facing areas of our hospitals, such as emergency departments, clinics, waiting rooms, diagnostic imaging, and inpatient units (including while visiting patients in their rooms). Masks are available at hospital entrances. Please do not visit patients if you have symptoms of illness.
Mammograms are images of breast tissue captured using ionizing radiation. At Quinte Health, routine mammograms are performed at Belleville General Hospital, Trenton Memorial Hospital, and Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital.
The mammography program at Quinte Health adheres to the standards set out by the Canadian Association of Radiologists Mammography Accreditation Program (CAR MAP).
If you are experiencing any breast symptoms consult with your physician or nurse practitioner to arrange for non-routine/non-OBSP diagnostic imaging of the breast.
To book your OBSP screening mammogram appointment (self-referral), please complete the form. Once completed, a Quinte Health team member will call you to book an appointment.

Trenton Memorial Hospital: Please arrive at the Diagnostic Imaging main office 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. Bring your health card with you. Quinte Health’s Comprehensive Breast Assessment Centre is also located at Trenton Memorial Hospital (more info below).
Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital: Please arrive at the Patient Registration desk 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. Bring your health card with you.
You should wear a comfortable two-piece outfit and avoid wearing any deodorants or powders.

Your mammogram images will be reported by a radiologist and an official report will be sent to the ordering physician or nurse practitioner.
In some cases, follow-up imaging of the breast may be requested by the radiologist. If this is necessary, then staff from the Comprehensive Breast Assessment Centre at Trenton Memorial Hospital will call you to arrange an appointment.
Comprehensive Breast Assessment (CBA), located at Trenton Memorial Hospital, offers a coordinated approach to the assessment and diagnosis of breast health concerns.
Services may include:
Screening mammography (an X-ray image of the breast)
Diagnostic mammography (special views to diagnose breast problems)
Breast ultrasound (use of sound waves to create images of the breast
Image-guided core biopsies (removal of a small sample of breast tissue)
Breast MRI
Onsite radiologist specializing in breast imaging
Surgical referrals
Breast health navigation
