Meet the Board

Nancy Evans is the Executive Director, Corporate Affairs & Strategic Initiatives at Smith School of Business, Queen’s University. She has extensive experience in strategy, marketing, communications, and stakeholder relations in private and public sector settings, consulting and in-house roles. She holds the Chartered Director designation and has held several board positions, including at the former Scarborough Hospital, and currently sits on Queen’s University’s Board of Trustees. She served as Chair of the Board for Quinte Health for two years and is pleased to continue to serve as a director and committee chair. Nancy and her partner have a home in Prince Edward County.

Andrew Fleming is retired from a 40+ year career as a lawyer with Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP and predecessor firms both in Canada and the UK with extensive experience in business law, including company, securities, and banking law. He has participated in all aspects of company law, including advising on general corporate matters relating to governance and structure in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors.

Andrew has served on numerous industry and government committees dealing with securities and corporate law matters in Canada including the Committee on Corporate Disclosure of the Toronto Stock Exchange. His practice also included arbitration of commercial matters under the auspices of the ICC Court of Arbitration. For the last 25 years of his career, he also actively participated in the management of the firm including as a member of the executive committee of the firm and as Managing Partner of the Toronto office.

Outside of his professional career Andrew has served on several charitable/not-for-profit boards including the Board of Governors of Shaw Festival Canada, the Board of Directors of Metropolitan Community Church (MCC) of Toronto, the Advisory Board of Ryerson Theatre School, and the Board of Directors of McMichael Canadian Art Foundation.

Bob Forder is a highly accomplished professional with over 30 years of experience in manufacturing. He held various management positions, including IT, Lean Manufacturing, Maintenance, and Production Manager. In 2013, he transitioned into public service as the Manager of Buildings and Facilities for the City of Quinte West, overseeing significant projects and managing budgets. Bob has also made notable contributions to his community, serving on the Quinte Manufacturing Association, the Belleville Chamber of Commerce and the Loyalist College Board of Governors. He is an active member of the 3rd Degree Trenton Knights of Columbus Council 2438 and Assembly 2323 4th Degree, in which he held leadership roles. Throughout his career, Bob has been recognized for his outstanding achievements and commitment to excellence. He is a proud father to two and grandfather to four and lives in Quinte West with his spouse.

Gary Hannaford retired in June 2016. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and has been elected a “Fellow” by the governing bodies of the profession in both Ontario and Manitoba and is entitled to use the designation FCPA, FCA.  He spent most of his career in leadership positions in the regulation of professional accountants in Ontario and Manitoba. This includes 21 years as the CEO with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba and more recently with CPA Manitoba following the merger of the three accounting bodies in Manitoba in 2015. He served 6 years as a member of the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants which is responsible for setting ethics standards for the accounting profession on a global basis.  Currently, he is a member of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Oversight Council, which provides oversight of the standard setting process for audit and assurance standards in Canada.  Gary is also a member and Vice-Chair of the Governance Board of Bridge Street United Church and is Chair of its Strategic Planning Committee. He resides in Belleville.

Tamara Kleinschmidt is Executive Director of the Trenton Military Family Resource Centre. In 1984 Tamara met her husband Peter who was a Member of the Canadian Forces (CF) beginning her path as a military spouse.  While Tamara’s husband was a CF Member her family experienced the privilege of living across Canada and beyond.  Over a twenty-seven year span her family lived in seven Canadian cities as well as the United Kingdom, finally arriving in Belleville in 2005.  During this period of time she completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Political Science, from the Royal Military College of Canada. Tamara’s education formed the strong foundation for her involvement with a number of non-profit organizations and association with Military Family Services and the Department of National Defense. Tamara has focused her professional energies on strengthening non-profit organizations in distress and building their capacity to meet their potential focused on the needs of the communities they serve. Tamara has served on the Loyalist College Board of Governors and is currently a member of the Minister of Veterans Affairs Advisory on Families.

Gary Mitchell is an experienced health data professional who has worked in health care for nearly 40 years at various levels. Gary holds a Masters of Health Science from the University of Toronto. His extensive experience includes many management and consulting roles in various Ontario hospitals and with the Ministry of Health.

Mike O’Shea’s professional career spanned 35 plus years, initially articling with KPMG and the Provincial Auditor’s office. With a career that weaved progressively through senior finance, regulatory and audit management positions in the Energy, Education and Government sectors. He also taught finance, audit and accounting courses at York University and several colleges.

Mike is a CA, CPA, Chartered Accountant, with an MBA from York University’s Schulich School of Business and a Diploma in Landscape Architecture. He has recently retired and is living in Foxboro.

Lisa O’Toole was born and raised in Belleville and returned to the Quinte area after a successful 32-year executive career in financial services while living in Toronto and Calgary. Lisa specialized in the securities and wealth management industries, holding senior roles in strategic development, change leadership, financial management, sales leadership and risk assessment/management. She holds a Commerce degree from Smith School of Business at Queen’s University, the FCSI designation (Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute) and has completed executive education programs at Queen’s University at Kingston, Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario and the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania. Lisa is an experienced not-for-profit Board member, having served numerous organizations including JUMP Math and The Duke of Edinburgh Award. Lisa and her husband Gerry reside in Prince Edward County.

Christian Sauvageau is passionate about the quality of care in Quinte Region. In 2014, Christian founded a medical device company and a consulting firm where he advises several medical technology companies. Prior to 2014, Christian was Vice President of the Customer Innovation business unit at Merck Canada Ltd where he introduced innovative products and practices and contributed to international strategies.

Christian is an experienced Board member having served on two not-for-profit organizations over 4 years each, as well as a management representative on multiple corporate Boards. His 32 years of experience in the health care industry, involved interacting with hundreds of doctors, nurses, and various other health care professionals in both primary and specialty care.  Christian graduated with a B.Sc.(Biochemistry) from University Laval in Quebec, Canada and was an Officer of the Canadian Armed Forces. He lives in Prince Edward County.

Yves Savoie is an executive coach and strategy advisor to not-for-profits and charities. He is the former CEO of Heart & Stroke Canada and the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. He brings deep practical knowledge and experience to complex organizations that deliver social impact. Yves is a tireless policy advocate for people with disabilities, for healthy eating, and for patient-centered approaches to healthcare.

He graduated from the University of Toronto, obtained his MBA at Concordia University, and later completed a Master of Management at McGill University. Yves is francophone and grew up in the Acadian region of northern New Brunswick. Yves is a member of the Board of the Ontario Caregiver Organization. He also served on the Editorial Advisory Committee of The Philanthropist. Yves and his partner live in the Township of Tyendinaga on the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee peoples.

A passionate community builder, lifelong learner and visionary health system leader, Stacey is the President & CEO of Quinte Health. Her career spans three decades with a wide range of leadership experiences in hospital, home, community and primary care across urban and rural communities in Ontario. Stacey joined Quinte Health following her time at North York General Hospital where she was Vice President Strategy, Integration and Digital Health. Prior to this, Stacey was the President and CEO of Headwaters Health Care Centre. Prior to that, Stacey was the CEO of the Toronto Central Community Care Access Centre, recognized for its groundbreaking work in home and community care.

Stacey has an MA from University of Waterloo, an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business and has garnered provincial and national recognition including: Top 100 Women of Canada and a National Award for Organizational Leadership in Diversity and Inclusion. Stacey has served on several boards and advisory committees including the Ontario Hospital Association and the Rotman School of Management.  Stacey resides in Prince Edward County with her family. 

Dr. Colin MacPherson has been the Chief /Medical Director of Psychiatry at Quinte Health since 2012 and has been the Chief of Staff at Quinte Health since April 2018. He has been with Quinte Health since 2011 as a psychiatrist and serves as the clinical lead for many of Quinte Health’s psychiatric programs and services.    

Dr. MacPherson earned his medical degree at the University of Western Ontario and completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Toronto. He has had multiple clinical, academic and administrative appointments.

Lina joined the Quinte Health Team in February 2022.  She is an experienced healthcare leader with exceptional leadership experience in strategic and operational execution in regional and urban acute and community settings.  Leading with values of integrity, respect, transparency and accountability, Lina is highly committed to creating the ideal patient experience with quality and safety at the forefront. 

Lina holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from York University, Master of Nursing (Admin) from the University of Toronto.  She is a Certified Health Executive (CHE) with the Canadian College of Health Leaders and a graduate of the University of Toronto Rotman Advanced Health Leadership Program and holds a Certificate in Legal Aspects of Healthcare Administration from Dalhousie University.
