Since 2020, when COVID-19 was deemed a pandemic, Quinte Health has continued to adjust its masking policy based on community prevalence of illness and other risk factors.

As rates of respiratory illness have recently declined, we are taking a temporary break from mandatory masking throughout the spring and summer, effective April 12th. This applies to patients, visitors and staff members. Masks will continue to be available at entrances for those who prefer to wear one.

We will reinstate a masking mandate in clinical, patient-facing areas in September in advance of the respiratory illness season.

Although the masking mandate has been temporarily lifted, if you have symptoms of respiratory illness (e.g. a cough), we request that you please put on a mask when you enter our hospitals as a courtesy to other patients and hospital staff. This will help to protect others from illness.

Please Do Not visit patients if you have any symptoms of illness. Read more.
